Absolutely breathtaking. Best way to see the cupola is to get the first tickets of the day (8:30am) and arrive a few minutes early. That way you won't have to navigate people on their way down.
463 steps to greatest view on Florence.Amazing!Worth every step, because You also can see up close Domes painting Last Judgement.Place worth to visit, also visit Baptistry and Bell tower (one ticket).
It's a long way to the top, if you wanna rock'n roll!! Same path for going up and down, and wide enough for one person, so you wait frequently. The view on top is amazing, better than bell tower .
Buy your tickets online and well in advance to avoid long queueing delays. The entrance is at the Porta della Mandorla at the left side of the cathedral .
The climb of 456 steps goes by fast! Indeed there are many narrow passageways, the worst being the spiral steps, but it goes by fast and the view is beautiful! Book your time slot in advance.
Amazing architecture , this hefty dome spearheaded the innovation of its time (in fact, it was the first big dome), and it's still impressive now. The views from the top are magnificent.
Reservation required! Make them at kiosks at Museo dell'Opera. 463 steps to the top, the route takes you by the interior of Brunelleschi's Dome where you can admire the frescoes up close and personal.
Beautiful view of Florence . The claustrophobic will have to overcome their fear by climbing all these very narrow stairs. However, the view is really worth it. Closest painting on dome!
Around 450-500 steps to the top. There's a nice break in the middle where you walk around the inside of the bottom of the dome, and can get a good look at the paintings .
It is very beautiful the view is breath taking
Closed on Good Friday. We came at lunchtime on Thu and had to get a Firenze card to go through the fast-track line , however the view is worth it!
Worth the climb up. You get a better view of the ceiling on your way down from the dome.
The buildings are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Before the modern era, the dome by Filippo Brunelleschi was the largest in the world. It remains the largest brick dome ever constructed .
It is a amazing view , but you need be paciente because had many stairs until the top. You also bring water and use confortable cotlhes. It is very hot inside. It is not recommended to children
Don't miss out on this amazing view ! When you reach the top you'll see Florence in all its beauty
Worth it. Wait in the line , scale the many steep steps, do it. Get your tickets in a little kiosk room right across from the Baptistery .
So, you need to be a fairly fit and def not obese. Passages are tight and it’s a one way in/one way out kind of deal. You’ve been warned. The views are soooooooo worth it.
Offers two perfect platforms for a bird’s-eye view of the city – providing you can handle the climb . It’s 463 steps to the top of the dome and 414 to the viewing platform .
It's, A-mazing! It's made of bricks and mortar, and were constructed on top of the basilica without inside support structures . Must see view as well .
Be at the door when it opens. Its a long haul to the top and people take breaks along the way to rest. Makes the wait crazy long.
Buy your ticket at the Duomo museum and then move one line over to reserve a time in line for climbing to the top.
Must visit when in Florence. The view is breathtaking.
463 steps up, but then a perfect view ! Make sure to book you tickets in advance
It's easy to lose track of space and time when you have such an astounding view before your eyes.
Worth the climb . Admire the engineering and beautiful views
Go when you've got fresh legs. I did it at the end of a long day and got a little queasy at the top. Oops!
Amazing views and a good workout to the top.
Go there way before opening - crowded even if you go there 10 mins earlier + you have to wait for people coming down. View is magnificent though.
The 450+ steps feel like 4500 when you are out of shape, but the view is worth the trouble!
Awesome view of Florence from top of the cupola
The 463 step climb is a piece of cake in comparison to the climb at the Vatican!
Long road up. Dont go if you have clostrophobia. But the best chance to see the duomo paintings
Bypass the initial line with the Firenze cars but be prepared to wait on the stairs. Not for the claustrophobic
The view at sunset with someone you love
Worth climbing up. Nice view of city and campanile
A masterpiece by Brunelleschi and icon of Florence, the Cupola of S. Maria del Fiore was built from 1418 to 1434. The cupola is 45.5 meters of diameter, the same as that of the entire Baptistery . Read more
