Great food, staff and service. Dog friendly . Sat down and they asked if our dogs needed a bowl of water. We went back the next day for lunch as well as it was very welcoming

Gazz (Roaming the Ridings)

Traditional Victorian pub looking authentic and fresh like its 1880. Great furnishing, a lovely restaurant area, sectioned drinking booths and possibly the most clean and plush toilets in York!

We've ordered 2 classic burger and waited around 25 minutes; when we were served we saw 2 charcoals instead of meat. I asked if this was normal and was told that this is due to their cooking method.

Great pub with a welcoming feel and friendly staff. We were there on a Thursday night when it was basically 'open mic' for all local guitarists. Was a great night and we'd definitely recommend. - John Martland
