Great food, staff and service. Dog friendly . Sat down and they asked if our dogs needed a bowl of water. We went back the next day for lunch as well as it was very welcoming
Traditional Victorian pub looking authentic and fresh like its 1880. Great furnishing, a lovely restaurant area, sectioned drinking booths and possibly the most clean and plush toilets in York!
Very traditional pub food served here... Try the Premium line caught cod fillet is worth dying for... Ask for a large portion for jz an extra £2... Do try the lamb shank pie ... Very decent!!!
Lager not good nor the beer , if you feel peckish you can try the pork scratchings £2:30 a fooking bag ehhhhh beer flys all over
Lovely place. Warm atmosphere. Very friendly staff . Chicken and mushroom ie is to die for.
Nice friendly service with good value food & wide selection of good beers .
We've ordered 2 classic burger and waited around 25 minutes; when we were served we saw 2 charcoals instead of meat. I asked if this was normal and was told that this is due to their cooking method.
Some great real ales .
Try the Nicholson's Pale Ale brewed by St. Austell
Beef rib pie was great!
You're ok to take your kids in here.
Have the sausage and mash
The mixed grill is a monster! you get a huge mountain of chips, two sausages, black pudding, a beef steak, gammon steak, lamb steak, chicken fillet, mushrooms, tomatoes, salad, coleslaw. - Raven Taylor
Hidden away down a narrow street just off Micklegate. Tends to be quiet outside peak times & seasons. A good range of pumps including real ales from small breweries. A recent local CAMRA award winner. - Dave Milne
The extra £5 to go up the tower is definitely worth it - beautiful views. The Minster itself is of course wonderful. - James Gooch
Had one of the greatest curries of my life here, and I know my curries better than most! Wow. - Dan Robertson
Great pub with a welcoming feel and friendly staff. We were there on a Thursday night when it was basically 'open mic' for all local guitarists. Was a great night and we'd definitely recommend. - John Martland
