Clifford's Tower

It’s the stunning view you get of the historic city of York that makes Clifford’s Tower one of the most popular attractions in Yorkshire. Set on a tall mound in the heart of Old York, this imposing tower is almost all that remains of York Castle, which was originally built by William the Conqueror.

Brilliant views of York and plenty of information to go with it. A national trust site with entry fee that being honest, isn't quite worth what you get!

Sian

Lovely but costs £4.20 each to go in, which is a bit of a rip off when you consider that it's empty inside. The view over York is fantastic though

On a mound originally built by William the Conqueror. Now new walkways and staircases has opened up parts of the tower which has been off-limits for centuries. Don't miss the new roof deck at the top.

Tatiana Alfenas

Have one beautiful view , but it need pay for enter. I don’t pay, but from the top of the stairs it's already beautiful.

Be prepared to pay entrance fee , or enjoy the view from the outside. Be careful though as there’s not much space and stairs right nearby,

Sunny H

Steep stairs upto the tower with an entry fee to get in

Christine

You can’t visit York and not go to Clifford’s Tower

Stunning view of York from the top. Climb it and enjoy a peaceful place . But don't go inside: it's 3,50 pounds and nothing special.

Stunning views across York!

Daniel M

Great views of York . I was disappointed to learn that York City Council continue to neglect the area around Skeldergate Bridge and Tower Gardens . Aren't councils supposed to run cities not ruin them.
