This city was a Viking settlement during the 7th C called 'Jorvik'...hence York as we know it today. Interesting and unique museum experience in this part of Europe.

Carl Griffin

Superb place to take the kids to learn about Viking York. The ride through the streets is brilliant.

As close as you will get to a time travel machine, the Jorvik Viking Centre will take you back over 1,000 years!

Pink 386

Worth a visit for all ages. Ride was interesting which you can experience the sights, sounds and smells of the Viking age. Then you get to see rare artefacts of earrings, combs, socks even frying pans

This is a great way to explore York’s history and learn more about our ancestors and how they would have lived!

Fascinating attraction , but come early, it gets very busy with a long wait in the queue outside!

Brilliant, engaging presentation of artefacts from a fascinating historical site .

Brilliant museum ! Very clever and the staff are excellent. If you are an English Heritage member, show your card for a discount

Welcome to Yorkshire

As soon as you come down the stairs, look down and you can see how far down all the different ruins are from Romans to the Vikings.

Brandon Cain

Kinda tourist trap. Small with like a ride that takes you thru a model town . A few artifacts at the end

Lianne

Alright, the best part being the 'ride' around old Jorvik and the info at the end about the archaeological analysis of skeletons.

Martin Queen

Very nice place to visit

Andy Hawcroft

Fancied coming here for years, but unless your a history buff with bookish, interested placid kids, give it a miss, yawn :o(

The guides ride display

Avoid the queue during the summer and half-term by waiting until 3 to go in. You get the same quality visit without the crush of people.

Interesting tour . Quite busy
