The best place to see real viking ships in great conservation state . Don't miss surrounds with greats houses. Enjoy a walk from here to maritime museum and take a ferry there to come back to Oslo
Best Museum in the island ! Amazing viking ship and history! The museum has 3 ships. It's a small but awesome museum .
If you are watching Vikings, you should absolutely visit this museum in Oslo to see the real & original Viking Ship or items. Actually even if you don’t watch The Vikings, you should visit here :)
The world's most important and famous Viking deserves a museum of it's own. But the museum should have A LOT more interesting things. It's an embarrassing museum to show Viking that important history
That was so good! 3 Vikings’ boats and other pieces of vikings history. A great time. Pretty cheap entrance ticket as well . I definitely recommend it.
If you are crazy about Vikings that’s the best place for you and one of rare chances to touch this epoch. There are two huge drakkars there which date back to the IXth century.
It’s small but full of history about the Vikings. Make this your first stop before hopping back onto the 30 bus to the Fram Museum . Entry fee covered by Oslo Pass .
Amazing museum , totally worth the visit. The Viking ships are HUGE and the encarvings so detailed. Check the OsloPass , it gives you free access to the museums and ferry , it may be worthwhile.
Free with Oslo Pass . Toilets are downstairs. Lovely gift shop . Expect to spend an hour or 2 here. Bus 30, get off at Vikingskipene, 2min walk to the museum .
The museums in Oslo are excellent and this one is no exception. The museum is purpose built for the ships, and they are displayed wonderfully. Great collection of viking artifacts .
Three long boats plus other finds on display. Some beautiful Viking carving. The building is a wonderful setting for the ships. We combined with a visit to Fram museum (recommend doing Fram last).
Really worthwhile if you are in Oslo, for both young and old. Gives a good appreciation for the seafaring Vikings of old...
Easiest way to get there is by the 30 bus . Great museum to visit only 10 dollar student price. Very quick and easy museum to see.
Quite small museum but you have to go there if you're in Oslo for a few days. They have a good collection of lifestyle items. Very cool.
Use your phone to read QR-codes and listen audio guides in the museum
Up-close look at two Vikings ships from as early as the 9th century. Other artifacts too. Outdoor cafe . Right on the bus route.
The navi vichinghe conservate in modo eccellente, ricca esposizione di strumenti e suppellettili a corredo. Three original viking warships, and all the tools and weapons they used to carry.
REAL Viking ships are here! Experience all 3 and watch the Viking movie for a historical view of how the Vikings lived.
Get your ticket at the National Historic Center/Museum. A ticket purchased either place may be used in both within 48 hours, but the ticket at the History Museum is 10kr less than here.
Cliche and guidebook appeal aside, the Viking ships are beautiful and this oldschool museum is very charming. Just avoid the tour bus visits.
Fantastic! Get the Oslo pass if you are going to visit lots of museums .
The location of the museum is very peculiar since it is inside an old church . The exposition is essential but well done. Recommended.
If you're not an avid Viking aficionado, you can be in and out in under 15 min. Get NOK 10 off if you have a hop on hop off ticket.
Amazing and interesting animated show runs beside one of the ships. Definately worth waiting for!
Seeing three of the best designed ships of 8-9th century AD is a cool experience.
Nice lil museum on history of viking ships. It could have more to see given the price...
The Viking Ship Museum presents great Viking ship discoveries from Gokstad, Oseberg and Tune as well as other finds from Viking tombs around the Oslo Fjord.
Very cool - you don't need more than 30 minutes but definitely worth the short walk from the Folk Museum
A must see if you come to Oslo. But it's little and the QR codes to listen the podcast are impossible to read. :-/
Very good, concise museum . The app was very helpful and informative.
Go up the steps next to each boat to get a birds-eye view of each Viking ship.
Seemingly small museum , but plenty to read about and take photos of. The old ships are massive and worth checking out!
I really enjoyed this museum . It’s pretty small, but fascinating. The video they screen every 15mins if worth a watch.
Very cool exhibit . 3 well preserved Viking ships.
Great stuff to know about. Interesting museum .
Learning about the ferocious Vikings. Still wandering if they buried the horses and dogs alive in their graves.
Actually I've expected more of this museum , 10-15 mins enough. The price is 60 NOK for adults. With OsloPass is free ;-)
Three oversized ships make you actually live the Viking era!
This is the living history of Norway! Don't miss it !
I've obviously heard about vikings, but seeing the ships and artifacts in-person is neat.
Bring a smartphone and headset for the QR code based audio guide...
Try to experience the Viking life. Their costumes , ideas and their own gods.
one of my fav museum - but avoid it when the tourists buses are lined up outside. too tiny to share with masses.
We showed up 20 minutes before closing and got half off admission. It was still enough time to see the ships.
Amazing museum , finally I were here????????????
One ticket for two museums : the Viking Ship Museum and National History Museum
There is only a huge Viking Ship from 850AD. Its good to see it.
Quite interesting - short visit. Unfortunately it takes some time on bus from the center to get there
Loved this museum - such a cool place to visit.
A bit dark and crowded , I'm looking forward to the new museum opening in 2020!
Must see in Oslo. It's so big you probably won't have to do everything in one visit. So interesting. - Sam J.
Nice museum with a nice history. Impressive statues! Across the street from Fram Museum. If you are at the island, should definitely visit it. - Débora França
Very beautiful park with Vigeland's sculptures. Really nice place to visit by bike. - Renato Fernandes
lots of ship models, few video expositions, few ship rooms of different periods, and much more stuff. Also a nice cafe inside. Get an Oslo card to visit all museums nearby at once - R
